She’ll play Courtney Boalt,
an extremely successful, self-made businesswoman who is potentially interested
in backing Peter Florrick’s (Chris Noth) campaign for President. In the
process, she meets Eli Gold (Alan Cumming), sparking a mutual attraction.
Williams returned to Broadway
last year for a special limited engagement in the musical After Midnight. Previously, she co-starred with Cicely
Tyson and Cuba Gooding, Jr. in The Trip To Bountiful during the 2013 Broadway season. Her
work in film, television, music and the Broadway stage has earned her four Emmy
noms, 17 Grammy noms, and a Tony nomination, among others, and Golden
Globe, Grammy and Academy Awards for Best Original Song for her platinum single
“Colors of the Wind,” from the Disney movie Pocahontas.

and King Size Productions in association with CBS Television Studios. Ridley

Dick and Craig Turk are executive producers. It returns for its seventh season
Sunday, Oct. 4 (9-10 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
