Kate Riley has
been named a full-time anchor for CNN World Sport. Riley had previously
been freelancing for the network, but her coverage of the Women’s World
Cup helped secure a permanent position.
Congratulations to
Kate Riley, who is officially joining the CNN World Sport team in a full-time
anchor role.
During
her summer freelance stint with us, Kate established herself as a valuable
contributor both in studio and in the field. Her on-location coverage of
the Women’s World Cup in Canada was a special highlight.
Kate
brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having covered international
sports across Europe, the Middle East and now North America. Prior to joining
CNN International, Kate anchored with both Sky and the BBC. She has a Masters
degree in Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff University and speaks French,
German and basic Arabic.
Kate
was born in California but spent her childhood in Hong Kong, Brunei, Cameroon
and the UK, where a lifelong allegiance to the Ipswich Town Football Club was
formed. We’re excited that Kate is now calling Atlanta home and enjoying her
daily run along the Beltline & Piedmont Park.
Please
join me in wishing Kate the best of luck with CNN World Sport! By Brian Flood
