Amherst County authorities arrested a West
Virginia woman in connection with an armed robbery of a CVS, according to a
Sheriff’s Office news release.
Sarah Bethany Altizer, 25, of Barboursville,
approached a pharmacy attendant around 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the store in Madison
Heights with a note saying she had a gun, the release said. The note demanded
cash from the register and pharmaceutical drugs, but the attendant couldn’t
access the items.
Altizer fled on foot, but deputies arrested her
later at a Madison Heights residence thanks to information from “vigilant
citizens,” the release stated.
Altizer is charged with robbery and is being held
without bond at the Amherst County Adult Detention Center. She is scheduled for
an appearance at 9 a.m. today in Amherst County General District Court.
